T Shirts, Parody, Art and Free Speech
T shirts have become one of the mediums of choice for self expression. And why not? While t shirts provide an avenue of expression for social, political or religious change, it also becomes a vehicle that reflects trends in pop culture.
There are limitations to the 1st Amendment regarding freedom of speech though. If anyone doubts that then one just has to wear one of our shirts in the wrong company of people. We CAN get beat up for expressing opinions.
Seems that T shirts give the wearer a certain level of deny-ability in that one can always say "it's a shirt, I didn't print it", or "my Mom bought it for me" or whatever. You might have an extra chance of getting out of a hostile situation.
Truth might set you free but it might also get you accosted. Just because something is true doesn't preclude that it's right. Wearer beware.
